Keto Spiked Green Beans and Bacon
This is one of our favorite dishes to go along side some choice grilled steaks, smoked BBQ, or as a delicious addition to holiday meals when you are just CRAVING green bean casserole.
It’s slightly higher in carbs per portion (6g net for 1 of 6 portions) than most of our recipes, so indulge responsibly, these are so delicious it’s hard to eat just one serving!
This recipe makes 6 servings, each serving is 6g NET carbs. Enjoy!
- 1.25 pounds of fresh green beans
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon, diced up
- 2 oz grated (or powdered) parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp chopped garlic
- 4 oz Whiskey ( we use Devils cut Jim bean)
- salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. (optional) crushed red pepper
Take your diced bacon and toss in the pan, cook until crispy and delicious, and the aroma of all that is tasty and delicious is filling your kitchen
Once the bacon is crispy toss in the chopped garlic and saute a few minutes until you’ve browned the garlic.
Add in your green beans, salt, pepper, and if you chose to use it, the crushed red pepper flakes.
Add your whiskey and immediately cover and reduce heat to medium.
Allow green beans to cook until they soften up, approx 15ish minutes.
Add heavy cream and parm cheese.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes, covered.
